Mission & Purpose

At Hope+Hue, our work is guided by two principles: value and equity.

We believe quilting holds inherent value as craft, as art, as livelihood, as protest, as comfort, as memory, and as voice. We curate high-quality fabrics and notions and provide professional longarm quilting services because makers deserve excellence. More importantly, makers deserve respect.

Hope+Hue is an inclusive space. We affirm the full humanity of the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, immigrants, and anyone whose existence is too often debated instead of honored. If you use your faith, politics, or personal beliefs to diminish others, this is not your shop. We will always choose protecting our community over protecting someone’s comfort.

We also believe creativity carries responsibility. As a business owner, we recognize the privilege of operating Hope+Hue and the obligation that comes with it. Since 2022, we have committed to redistributing a portion of our profits to organizations advancing justice and equity. We also donate time, materials, and shipping for longarm quilting of artistic and memorial quilts that support social justice efforts. We are proud to have donated more than $8,000 since 2022.

We regularly update the list of organizations receiving support from Hope+Hue. We invite you to learn about their work and to contribute in whatever way feels meaningful to you.
